Faculty

History

International students have been studying at BMSTU since 1952. The Faculty of International Educational Programs was created in 2011 in order to optimize their learning. Currently, there are 400 students from 51 countries. Among them are citizens of the United States, Germany, France, Spain, Israel, China, Brazil, Vietnam and Myanmar, as well as students from Latin America and Eastern Europe. International students have individual education plans, which fully comply with the training programs of the University.

An important part of the faculty is the preparatory department. Its students receive a traditional pre-university training (Russian language, mathematics, physics), and also have the The Faculty of International Educational Programs opportunity to participate in programs for adaptation prior to admission to the University, as well as better prepare for admission to master’s and doctoral studies. During the course of their studies, students and graduate students are actively involved in the departments’ ongoing research and work, and participate in the university’s social, cultural and sporting life.

Our philosophy

Sloboda Palace

The main educational building (GUK) of MSTU consists of two parts.

The old part (also called the “palace”) is the Sloboda Palace of the 18th-19th centuries, rebuilt in its modern form in 1826 according to the project of Domenico Gilardi for the “workshops of various crafts” of the Educational House. This part is facing the 2nd Bauman street.

The new part (the so-called “circular” or “high-rise”), having 12 floors and built in 1949-1960 according to the project of L.K. Komarova, faces the Lefortovo embankment of Yauza. Its construction began with the left wing, which is called the “northern”. Later, the right “south” wing was completed.

The alumni club

The alumni club of University is a Bauman community that provides an opportunity to keep in touch and exchange experience between all those who studied, teach at the University or otherwise cooperate with it. This is an association of reputable professionals and promising specialists; those who want to build on their success and achieve new goals; those who have already made a career – or while at the start.
